Fast React Plumbers - Kent

Beware of this company based in the Kent region. Have rung them up twice now for various plumbing work for my house. On the first occasion they quoted £75 an hour for call outs, I declined as I knew I could get it cheaper only to be called back by this company 5 minutes later stating that they could do the work at their magically reduced rate of £55 which I accepted.
So phoned them up again tonight as I needed a small leak fixed only to find that their rate had increased to £109 an hour. I told them that the last time it was only £55 to which they replied it was probably work done on the week day to which I replied no it was a Saturday. Again I declined as £109 is ridiculous and found another plumber whose doing the work for £55. As if by magic, Fast React rang me back, like on the first occasion to say that they could in fact do the work for £50 an hour.
Admittedly the work carried out was of a satisfactory standard although they did break the outside tap which was leaking, TWICE before they actually eventually got it right but I wasn't charged and it hasn't leaked since. This is just a quick note to tell people to be careful if they ever deal with this company and do not accept the first offer they quote you.
If only there were some honest people out there!!!!!

Perfect price optimisation - charging the most money that you can get away with. A nice demonstration that whilst it might seem good for business (or the bottom line) at first glance, perhaps it isn't so good in the long run if it leaves your customers with a sour taste in the mouth.
To be fair though, if all this was at quote stage then at least the ball is in your court. It's not as bad as changing or inflating the price after the work has been done. I don't think that it is dishonest.DFW Nerd 0350 -
Not dishonest I suppose but a little sly and I certainly won't be using them again.0
