Underlay for solid wood floor...

Hi all,
Been wanting bamboo solid wood flooring for ages in the lounge and just got it today as it was on offer.
Next thing is to get some underlay. Obviously I need a moisture barrier on the very bottom, but should I then get:
Acoustic Floor Foam
or
Flooring Underlay Boards
The foam will cost me about £15 for the whole lounge and porch, the underlay boards will cost about £40 for the same sections, but the boards are 7.5mm thick whereas the foam is only 2 mm thick!
Would it really make that much difference under boards that are 15mm thick on a concrete floor?
Hope someone can help!!!

The main difference you'll notice is in the spring of your step. The underlay boards will feel nicer and more 'responsive' to walk on.
I'd say for the price difference of only £25, it would be money well spent - especially when you've already made the biggest investment of getting the bamboo flooring itself.0 -
A little pricey, but have you checked out 'Tredaire Technics 5'?
Alternatively there's 'Timbermate Silentfloor Gold'.0 -
I used boards but there is no way there were 7.5 mm thick I got them from our local diy merchant but Focus / b&q also stock them, they covered over 20 square meteres and cost £20 a pack, the rooms there in are a lot warmer in winter definately worth it for comfort if not money saving on the heating bill as well.If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
