Zanussi washing machine problem

My Zanussi FJ1254 was on it's spin cycle this evening when it made a very loud banging noise, and continued spinning making a great deal more noise than normal. I switched it off, got the door open and removed the clothes, most of the spin cycle had been completed. The white towels and linen which were directly in contact with the holes in the cylinder wall were covered in dirty grey marks, matching the holes, the rest of the wash wasn't. I'm a little reluctant to try running an empty wash to clean the machine, I've had a flooded kitchen with another machine. Is it likely that the drain hose has become blocked, or come apart from the machine in some way, or does it seem more than that? Does anyone know where I can view a video showing how to dismantle the machine, is it something an amateur should try? Any help appreciated.
