Hi all, hope you're well.
It's time for me to buy a new laptop, and I'm struggling to find a website that reviews them and allows me to compare features between the leading laptop models! Anyone know if there is a "gold standard" website that does this? I've used trustedreviews.co.uk before but their laptop section seems to be a little bare nowadays.
Just in case anybody is in-the-know at the moment, i've listed the features I'm looking for below: thanks for all your help!
1) This will essentially be a desktop-replacement laptop, I'd love to have a screen that's bigger than 16" - must be an HD screen. Otherwise the features these days all seem up to scratch (processor and RAM etc) unless anyone thinks otherwise?
2) Must have:
HD screen
Ports for SD cards etc
3) It would be nice if it had:
Blu-Ray writer/player
Good quality Webcam
Bluetooth
4) Bonus
TV tuner - but i dont care too much for this.
5) I will NOT be using this laptop for gaming as I have a PS3 (and in theory then a blu-ray player i already have, but might a blu-ray writer be useful for the future? id expect the laptop to last at least 4 years?)
The last time I bought a laptop was 4 years ago and I did a crap-load of research, however i get the impression that today they're all up to scratch and capable of doing everything you want them to, comfortably. The difference therefore would be additional features, such as blu-ray/bluetooth/screen size etc. Is this a fair assessment?
ps, i am a 24 year old male student, if that has any bearing on anything - not that it should, really.
Thanks again!
Kam

No one has answered so I'll start off!
I think all things on your list can be covered by a sony vaio. If you have a sony centre near you, you can pop in and have a play around. It's the second biggest one they have size wise. Might cost you around 1100 pounds or so though last time I checked (but that was the sony store...)
I also use a sony vaio and think they are good: might be a bit expensive compared to others but not too many problems which is good and which I think is worth the price.0 -

Thanks for that. To my knowledge the latest Vaio models seem to be the only ones around that are in the mix with blu-ray, correct me if I'm wrong.0 -
