How to find out who at fault with claim?
Options
Hi
I am writing on behalf of my sister. She has just bought her first car. She had moped in 2007, and had an accident. It wasn't her fault, but we cannot remember if it went down as her fault with the insurers and haven't got any of the paperwork anymore as she sold the bike last year.
Is there a way of finding out this information? We cannot remember the broker she bought the policy with, but can remember it was with NIG, but they are closed at the minute. We tried ringing another insurance company up to see if there was a list or something they had access too but they said not.
Thanks

There's no centralised database if that's what you mean.
Depending on when it was in 2007 you could sidestep the entire problem by going with someone like Direct Line who only ask for the last 3 years worth of claims.0 -
Does she have a bank statement or credit card statement with the premium on showing who she paid for the insurance? or who the excess was paid to (if there was one)?Indecision is the key to flexibility0

There is. It costs £10 to find out what info they have on you.
