Claiming conts based JSA after finishing Uni - Queries

Hi

I'm going to have finished a University course by next Friday. I was working and have paid NI until August 2009. I'm looking to claim JSA whilst I'm job hunting. My queries are:

- Have I paid NI for the right years to claim CB JSA? Have I paid enough NI? I was earning between 15-18 grand a year (varied by bonuses) for the 2 years between July 2007 and August 2009. I can't get income based due to OH's wages.

- How will I prove I have completed University, will they ask for any documents?

Thanks in advance, guys!

You'll have to take in student loan forms, and a university letter (such as enrolment form).

My course is set to end on the 2nd July, even though I finished April 28th... So I've had to sit around waiting applying for jobs and getting no where :p

Why was your course set to end so late even though you finished in April?

I am not sure when my course officially ends, next Friday I guess. Although graduation won't take place until November. Confusing.

Yeah my graduation is in July.

I think its due to the course being set as fulltime, but actually not being.. Annoying when its £1.5k for 3 months of a course... My course only lasted a little over 6 months.

Mine was 9 months, 9 crazy months (PGCE).

Anyway, does anyone have any advice to offer? Do I need to go to the JC next Monday?

Tax years ending in 08 and 09 are the relevant tax years.

Roughly, about £95 a week, I dont think you will have any problems going by your earnings.

One thing, I take it you were employed, not self-employed?

If you paid class 2 NIC's you wont get JSA.
