Forum Not Updating

Options
Hi all,

I have a very annoying problem at the moment and cannot figure out what's going on. Whenever I log in to a forum the messages still show as unread, as if it's not updating.

For example, I logged into MSE this afternoon at 12:49pm. I came back on here at 18:00 and all the messages I read this morning are still showing as unread. So I logged off, waited a while and just logged back on. My last visit time is still showing this afternoon at 12:49pm.

I have checked my browser settings and it is set to check for new pages automatically so I really can't figure out what's going on. I have cleared all cookies/temp files etc but still no change. Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks.

If you've cleared all your temp files & cookies, the only other thing I can think of that would cause this is if your clock is wrong?

Just checked, clock and date correct. I've also just checked on another PC in the house. This is also not updating. I get new messages come through, but all read messages stay bold and the "last visit" time stays the same.

Just tried it on my phone connected to Vodafone and not through my LAN, this also will not update, my phone still shows last visit 12:49pm. How strange.

Just been investigating further. If I clear all temp internet files then log in, the time remains stuck and has not updated, however if I log out whilst on the website, then log straight back in, the time updates. Not a major problem but it's just so annoying!

Well everything seems to be back to normal today. Last login time is showing correct. Someone mentioned the network provider could have been caching the pages whilst they were updating the local exchange but I doubt this.
