is it possible to transfer video to dvd using just the tv, a video player and a dvd recorder?
if so, how would i go about this?
(I bought and returned a computer programme + dongle to do this but it wasn't compatible with windows 7 premiun)

Yes it is possible. How you do it varies depending on your connections. You can do it through HDMI, SCART or PHONO connections.
Connect DVD to TV and VCR to DVD. Then play VCR and record on to DVD while monitoring what you are doing on the TV. The manuals for your equpment should have diagrams showing how to do this, if you have mislaid them you can usually download in PDF format from the manufacturers web sites.0
