Indeed it is the case that different solicitors have different opinions on a case; the Defendant's solicitors were adamant for three years that my son had no case but eventually settled with him a week before the court hearing. Both his solicitors and I felt that he did have a case and eventually, after three hard years of litigation, our position was vindicated. The Defendant's solicitors seemed to believe that by shouting very loudly 'you have no case' that we would accept that and go away.
I will be taking the advice of several posters, including seeking a professional opinion. I am quite happy to pay for advice if I believe I have a case.0 -
At a similar age?
Yes 31.So, are you implying you are a solicitor?
I am implying nothing, you are implying I'm a solicitor. Are you implying that pro bono advice would be incorrect?
No, I am implying that if you want to give the OP some details to get pro-bono legal advice you do so, and I will subscribe to the thread and see what the OP gets as a second opinion.Best Regards

If you're lucky they could make a film about you. You're a saint, and it's wonderful how you're doing this for all the people out there deprived of credit cards. Who do you want to play you?0 -
As I have stated affordability and credit scroing are what lenders look at. They don't redline people because they are medically retired. I know because I know someone who is in a similar position, and they obtained credit without a problem. They just had to confirm the affordability, as the loan provider was not where they had their income paid into.
I am not against legal advice. It is normal for different solicitors to have different opinons on a case. So if you would like to point the OP to take pro-bono advice, please do so.
I am not implying anything, rather the opposite,:D I am asking a direct question:D based on the inference I detected (maybe erroneously) in the emboldened words above.Yes 31..
Well, maybe you could have suggested that course of action to her, based on your friends experience?I am implying nothing, you are implying I'm a solicitor.

As far as I am aware, the OP has not had a first legally valid opinion (from anyone admitting they are qualified to do so;)) unless you know differently?0 -

Where did the OP say she was doing this for altruistic reasons? and if that was the case and the DDA was being breached by the banking code, would that be wrong?0 -

You still here? :rotfl:
The OP has now stated they will get legal advice now, so there is no need to post your remarks any more. OP let us know how you get on.Best Regards

Thank you for your interest in my postings, but I will post as, and when I see fit, and not as you see fit.:D0 -

A strange response to a genuine question and difficult to see the connection.
I have found much of the advice on these fora useful in several different instances over the last few years, although this is my first venture into discussion. I can only assume that the bizarre responses from some posters are entirely as a result of not understanding the long-term difficulties encountered by the disabled, over and above the inherent physical and/or psychological impairment of the disability itself. Until my son became disabled I had no idea of the extent of the difficulties or the restrictions imposed on the whole family as a result of one disabled member, especially if the disability is sudden and serious.0
