Halifax Current account and Credit Agency

Hi Everyone,

I have a Halifax reward account, a sole account and a joint account.

When opened they did a credit search and added the new account to my credit file. I havnt got an overdraft on the account but I understand why they still record the account on my file.

It did state state the credit limit at £0 but today I got a notification of a change to the credit limit on the account... According to Equifax my credit limit is £5! This account hasn't got an overdraft though, I have checked.

Any idea why Halifax would tell Equifax I have a £5 credit limit?

Would this look bad in anyway?

Regards

I dont know what order they do their credit and debts, but if they were running the tapes to pick up the data to send to the CRA at the time when money was going in and out, you could have looked like you were overdrawn by £5 but in reality you weren't. It is all about timing as I would imagine they run the CRA collection tapes at night when they are running the tapes to take debits and add credits. You have just been very unlucky, but as long as it still shows a green o and not a 1, I personally would not do anything about it. Only if the status indicator changes from zero would I call them up.
