OK I accept any new poster could just be trolling the boards, but I usually assume they are genuine until either the story gets really far fetched or they start slagging eveyone off (in most cases both starts asap lol).
It wouldn't suprise me if banks started doing this someone has to pay the extra bank tax and they will do all they can to make sure it won't be them lol, plus I have seen simular posts on other forums.

You would hope so. It would be wrong if they were not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. i have noticed this very clever trick too , i have an overdraft and when my money comes in transactions are made and they will often re-order the transactions so that they can charge me £8 for what they call Guarenteed payments , made with my debit card .. althought i cannot use my debit card if i do not have any money in there and the authorisations are always done straight away at least 3 or 4 times a month this guarenteed payments with my debit card will kick in because they will re-arrange the payments so that it looks like i was over my overdraft on any particular day rather than in credit .

With LloydsTSB, as long as the account is within terms at the end of the business day, there is no charge. It does not matter in which order the transactions are recorded.0

Why dont you read the thread content before posting?
Its not a trick. It's standard accountancy method. It is why the banks always say that you should have the money in your account at least the day before a payment is due. With LloydsTSB, as long as the account is within terms at the end of the business day, there is no charge. Yes, Lloyds are a bit more flexible there but you do run a risk if you leave it late in the day to pay in. i.e. The account manager may wait until the afternoon but at some point he/she will have to take the decision to bounce or pay the item and if you pay in after that, then it could be too late to stop the bounce.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). its about the fact my bank account now shows as £-301.80 od/ tommorrow my money will come in and ill get x my overdraft limit is 302 and so as long as i don't go over this then im fine
tommorrow morning when money comes in my balance will show in credit i can then take money etc as i need what they then do is realter the transactions so the payments come out before the money came in so they can charge me ..
I cannot take money out of my bank at all when im at my overdraft limit they will not let me i can only take money when i have it in the account

Forecast balances are always a bit risky to rely on and the banks have always made that clear. Seeing on a Saturday or Sunday what is potentially going through on Monday based on batches processed so far gives an indication but its not reliable. It also doesnt mean that the banks are ready yet to operate with full real time banking. That is coming but its been coming for a long time. When real time banking does finally occur, then you will no longer get the accountancy method used.
For many people, real time banking will make things harder for them as at the moment, you can play the system a bit if you are leaving it tight on when you can pay in.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). No it is not. The money will come off your available balance, and the transaction will debit between the next business day - 6 months, depending when the retailer wants to claim it. The money which comes off your available balance only does for a few days, then if the retailer still hasn't claimed, you can use the funds again.
I suggest you have a look at your statements, and you will notice the time and date of the transaction and the date of debit are different.Best Regards
