I'm trying to open an additional current account via their internet banking site but there doesn't appear to be an option to do so.
Does anyone else have the option? I can apply for a loan, overdraft, insurance, credit cards, etc but not another current account.

I have the same problem. I'm just letting you know you're not alone.0

I assume you're both using the NEW Lloyds website as it's still there in the usual place on the old site for me.

Just tried it myself and no problems. May have something to do with internal scores but of course only guessing.

Why open another Current Account?
- Help organise your money
- e.g. you could use it to pay your bills from
- It's a Classic Account so comes with the following:
- A debit card
- Free everyday banking as long as you stay in credit
- Access to your money 24/7
- It's easy to apply

Make it a joint account
If you want this account to be a joint account simply open the account in your name and then add someone else to the account at your nearest branch. Find out more

It should take only a couple of minutes to fill in our simple Current account application form. You'll just be asked to confirm a few details.
What you’ll need- We’ll be sending the account confirmation to the address we currently hold for you. If you think these details might be out-of-date please check them. You can do this by going to ‘Personal details’ in the left hand menu in Internet Banking.
- You’ll also need details of your employment.
- a UK resident
- aged 18 or over
- an EU national OR you have permission to stay in the UK for at least 12 months.
Please be aware that we may refer your details to a credit reference agency as part of the application process. If for some reason you don’t qualify for this account, we’ll look at your details and we might be able to offer an alternative account to meet your needs.0 - Help organise your money

My other half has an Classic Plus accounty when she tries to apply for another account - she gets the following message:-
Sorry. We can't process your account application online.
However, we may be able to process your application in a Lloyds TSB branch but we need to talk to you further about your application.

Simply call into any Lloyds TSB branch with;- An original document confirming your identity e.g. passport or driving licence.
- An original document confirming your address e.g. utility bill or bank statement.
Not sure why0 -
I think it's because my account is still an Under 19s one. It's not credit score related, otherwise why would I be allowed to have and apply for a credit card off them? I haven't got the new site yet either.0

Suppose it could be a credit scoring issue, or the fact I've only had my Clasic account with them for a couple of months. Was going to open another account to help with paying bills.0

I had this, and also auto-decline for everything (e.g. upgrade current account = go away...). After a month (only calling weekends admittedly), it's been sorted - apparently I was down as a 'collections customer', which perplexed me. "Ok, can I talk to them" met with roughly "erm, who are you? You're not one of ours...." and eventually they removed a marker from my account that apparently should never have been there.
Might be worth calling telephone banking to see if similar happened here (or click the 'upgrade account' link to see if it shows the same symptoms) - they seemed more helpful than the branch (who didn't seem interested in talking to me as it wasn't showing anything they could sell me... due to this problem... oh well
