                    Hi there
Off to Delhi at the end of september on Honeymoon. Flying with Virgin. OH has just popped out to M&S out of town to get a linen suit (very dapper) and I have a very posh but comfortable dress to wear for the flight. Apart from looking like we have stepped out of a M&S advert are there any other hints you can offer for getting an upgrade? Like is it worth mentioning the honeymoon, or our fear of flying?

Last US flight I was on it was the single passengers that were offered an upgrade and according to an Airport programme I watched once, everyone says they are on their honeymoon so they tend to go to the back of the queue so to speak

Agree with the above. Some people say it helps if you've got a FF card.
Enjoy the honeymoon - You don't need an upgrade - your in Lurv!0

The easiest way to get an upgrade is to hand over a lot of money or airmiles
The next easiest is to be a member (with lots of full cost travel) of the airline's frequent flyer program
Otherwise if you do get an upgrade also put a fiver on the lottery as it's obviously your lucky day.

i managed to get an upgrade with continental to Newark (and back again ) and the first question they asked at the check in was "are you traveling alone sir?" which I was , the upgrades were then offered. I was the only guy in the queue with a tie on too. 0 ) and the first question they asked at the check in was "are you traveling alone sir?" which I was , the upgrades were then offered. When Mr Frizz and I honeymooned, we asked at check-in if there was any chance of an upgrade, as we were honeymooners, the reply was "So is everyone else on your flight". Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do! Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

It depends heavily on what class your fare is (e.g. if it's economy and Q/X/N etc, forget it!). Are you flying economy? If so VS don't often op-up to PE as PE is usually the cabin full or oversold.
Don't bother with the honeymoon card!
Do you have any status with VS? (i.e. Silver or Gold FC members)?
