changing metre from pre payment
Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew if you could change a prepayment metre to a normal one and pay via direct debit if you fail the credit check by paying a deposit?I am with Eon for my electric and really want to change the metre but as my bankruptcy is still on my credit report I will fail the credit check. Many thanks
Paul Walker , in my dreams;)

I doubt it, especially with E.On. They are very particular who they give credit to.
I think as a bankrupt, you'll find it hard to get credit anywhere."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Most companies have either Credit checking or a charge and you must have been with them for 12months.
I am sorry but I think you may be stuck with your PP meter, but why don't you phone all the main suppliers and findd out. It would be interesting to find the answer
Good luck0 -

Hi uolypool
To be honest, I think it very unlikely we would agree to replace your Prepayment meter with a credit one if you fail a credit check.
This will particularly be the case if the Prepayment meter was fitted because of a debt with us.
However, as I have posted on other threads, each case is looked at individually. Therefore, it is always worth asking the question.
Sorry I can't offer more positive advice uolypool.
