I was wondering if anyone knows where and how much I can can find an integral car seat for the Fod Galaxy?

I dont really wnat to go to my main dealer - far to expensive, but the integral car seat no longer works in my car and I need to think about replacing it (as its integral, I know that I will have to replace the whole seat).

Mind you, the postage/delivery charges for this heavy thing may outweigh going to the main dealer! But has anyone any idea on the price of this??

We have a sharan with the integral seats - they are fantastic!

Option one - you could try ebay - I expect they appear from time to time.

Option two - try looking at this site - lots of technical stuff about the galaxy plus people do sell stuff off.

I know this sounds daft, but as its a car seat, I want a new one - that way I know the buttons to press will work and the retraction mechanisims etc.

We have one in the galaxy, but the retraction mechanism stopped working for that - but its great, and why we need to replace it.

I may take a cautious look on ebay though!

There used to be a guy on ebay sold new seats - I think he converted the sharans / galaxys for wheelchair access hence had these parts surplus after conversion

    try this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Genuine-Ford-Galaxy-RH-SEAT-with-CHILD-SEAT_W0QQitemZ190025823653QQihZ009QQcategoryZ21654QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Be very careful here - seats are as important as your airbags and other safety measures. They are structural items and you really need to have a very good idea where it comes from if you buy 2nd hand. I also wonder about what this would do to your warranty...

Its one of the reasons I want to buy new - but on reflection, we have an old 1997 model - not even sure I could find new ones for this model anymore!

Will bite the bullet and go to the mean dealership this afternoon.

You obviously don't need to worry about warranty then:rotfl: But honestly always go for the safer route on these sort of things

Also forgot to say, car companies have a legal duty to keep spare parts stocked for at least 10 years, so you should be ok. If the Ford dealership starts to take the mickey, there are other companies that sell pucker parts - remember seeing once such company on Top Gear but cannot remember what they were called. You could always trying googling what your after and see what comes up....Let us know how you get on
  • Ford will hapily sell you one, but from memory they are about £795 each!!!

Which seats are these - the main front seats or the rear passenger ones?
