Which part of the Lakes are you staying in? as there is so much to see and do and it will depend on ages of children and their abilities for walking etc...0

If the older ones are into walking there are some easy walks round the shores of Derwent Water,but not too sure about the little one though as at that age they can't walk too far.The Ospreys are nesting up at Dodd Wood and there is a Visitor Centre where you can watch the baby Ospreys being fed by the parents which might appeal to the older ones for five minutes lol.I think you have to pay for the parking but can't remember.
If you visit the Tourist Information Centre in Keswick town centre where the clock tower is,they will give you all the leaflets you will need of visitor attractions and you can also pick up from there a free parking clock thingy which you leave on certain streets in Keswick that gives you a certain amount of time free parking{An hour I think}
A lot of people head for the Beatrix Potter attractions,but I'm not too sure what your older children are in to.The Lakes have boat trips as well but not too sure if they will be too expensive for you all.
We stayed here when we went up there. http://www.castlerigg.co.uk/
There is so much to see and do we found we need two weeks to fit everything in
Boothes supermarket is good for groceries and you can get the parking ticket money back if you spend over a certain amount.0 -
Windlatter Forest Park is good, let the older ones do the adventure trail alone/with one adult maybe for the 10 yr old, and there's a park area for the little one."Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world."— Frank Warren0

There's lots to see and do around Keswick - lots of walking, watersports on Derwentwater, Castlerigg Stone Circle, rowing boats, Pencil Museum, Motor Museum, etc.0

Windermere has tennis, golf and crazy golf and feed the ducks. Everyone will enjoy rowing on the lake.
Keswick has puzzle museum. Wooden puzzles to solve for free. Will keep them occupied.
