Help with surveys please

Were 1st time sellers and our house is being survied on Friday
Can nayone please tell me how long this will take? Its just a normal and not an exteneded survey.
Will these people need to gain access to our loft? If so do I need to have ladders for them. How about the shed?
What can I expect
Thanks in advance

if it is for a mortgage application only, it will take no more than half an hour - i have even known of Valuers driving out side the house and not even go inside. they will look generally all over the house, and would prefer to look into the roof from a chair or steps, but, wont make a fuss if there is no access.

if it is a full structural survey it can take several hours and the surveyor will look in great detail at everything to see if it works - all doors, windows etc etc.

either way it is nothing to worry about. some folks do "tidy" up to give a better impression, but, a decent valuer/surveyor will not be offput by the clutter !
