    would anyone like to suggest a reason that i can view on BT ..... but not on other isp's?

    DNS Issue?

    I am trying to use nslookup to query the tiscali dns database without much luck.

    i am using nslookup
    > server 212.74.112.66
    > littlepoppets.org.uk

    and i get
    Server: 212.74.112.66
    Address: 212.74.112.66#53

    ** server can't find littlepoppets.org.uk.home: REFUSED

    however i get the same if i try google .....

    i can ping 212.74.112.66 ... can i not query the tiscali DNS from a BT Connection ? i can query the google dns 8.8.8.8 and i get returned :

    could you do me a favour, and run an nslookup?

    Start > Run >cmd (enter)

    then: nslookup littlepoppets.org.uk

    Could you post back the response?

    I am with Tiscali (now Talk talk) and cannot access the site, if you look on the tiscali forums they have been having some major issues with DNS servers which is causing lots of people issues accessing certain sites.

    Below is the results of the Nslookup

    I'm using OpenDNS rather than my ISPs DNS and the site opens for me (seems a bit slow though). You can always use OpenDNS instead of your ISPs DNS - google OpenDNS for details as I'm too much of a newbie to post links. A DNS is the equivalent of a phone book that translates the website name to the number.

    Hi Again,

    Its definately Tiscalli's DNS server, I have changed the DNS server settings in my router to below

    OpenDNS Free DNS Server IP address

    => 208.67.222.222
    => 208.67.220.220

    I can now access the site with no problems.
