some time ago i set up a wireless network using netgear dg834g router. pc was connected directly to this via network card inside case. laptop connected via wireless card. everything worked fine until a few days ago when the thunder storm blew up the pc's network card.
rather than replace the card i bought a wg111 usb for the pc. this has installed ok and can find my network. problem is when i set up the network i set a wep password and can't now remember it or find it anywhere. so my pc wont connect.
any one know how i get round this

it is visible if you sign on to your routers admin pages at 192.168.0.1 (or possibly 1.1) wireless security will show you it unencrypted.Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0

Using a wired connection on the laptop, put in a new one.. using wpa preferably, it's more secure than wep. As woo suggests you can get the old one by going into the router config on the laptop, but you may as well make it fully secure while you are at it.

If you are really stuck there should be a reset button on the back, hold it down for around 5 seconds and it should restore the router to factory settings. you should then be able to access it on 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 in your browser.0
