I ordered my tesco shop online last night for the very first time ( new customer).
Booked a slot for 7pm - 9pm tonight .

*I Got a call at 7 from tesco they told me there had been a problem getting the money from my card

* They tried taking the guide price of £80 even though the shop only came to £60 , We had the £60 in but not £80

* We got girlfriends dad to ring up and pay on his card for the order

* When he rang he was told he didn't need to pay and we were told the wrong information. They told us the shop was on its way and will be with us at 20:27 tonight !

* Its gone past 9pm and its still not here. I ring up customer services and spoke to a rude women who told me there were no accidents on the route the driver was taking and that he is on his way and it WILL be delivered.

* She apologised and said she will refund the £5.50 delivery charge , Then 2 minutes later said the drivers just informed me he cannot deliver the order due to payment problems.

Having been told twice my order is on its way and that my stepdad didnt need to pay for the order as our payment went through anyway I feel very annoyed and dont no what to do next. Ive spoken to duty managers etc.. and they couldnt give a hoot.

Please HELP !

  • Tesco will alway use the guide prices for authorisation purposes, so you should always have that much available. I did not get my delivery once as the delivery man could not find my house entrance and did not call. The delivery status showed as delivered and the balance shown as debited on my card. However, I just called customer services and they delivered the next day. I was given the option of either crediting my account again or to deliver the next day.

This seems to be a stock answer for "other" supermarket complaints.

For what its worth Ocado are expensive and do not cover very large areas of the country but more importantly they do not solve problems for other supermarkets! ;)

The only problem we ever had with Tesco was when the computer crashed at the local store, this ment that they could not access the shopping details for three days. However they contacted us about 20 minutes before the delivery period to tell us this.

Cant remeber how we resolved the issue, but they tend to be good at refunds. I recieved an item that had a day left on its best before, usually you are warned about the short shelve life items. They refunded the cost over the phone (as driver had left), we kept the item to.

We do all our shopping through mysupermarket.com and tescos is often the cheapest (when compaired to Sainsburys, Asda and Ocado.

Hope you get it sorted, I tend to take names and times of calls. So if I dont get any joy I can refer back to the person or time of the call. If I dont catch it I always make a point of asking for it near the end of the conversation. Then I make a point of using it, somepeople are very un-nerved about this.

Sounds more like an inconveniience than a nightmare.

Mind you, a.wallace hasn't posted for a few days so has probably starved to death.
