Frustrating Comunication mix up.

So I was after a few things from Ebay today.

I find a seller who sold all the things I was after and who offered reduced postage per addition item.

So I think id order all the things then ask for an invoice. I buy the first and am taken straight to the payment page because they require instant payment. I pay for the item and email through Ebay to ask how the reduction in postage works (I didn't want to pay for all the items as I would have had to pay full postage for each item through the instant payment)

I wait on Ebay for an answer, nothing for a few hours. Then I see they have dispatched the item. I email them through Ebay asking about the postage for addition item- No answer again.

I log in to Hotmail an hour latter to find 2 emails in my junk folder. The first to say that they would refund postage on addition items then to say it is too late to order additional items for the reduced postage as they have posted the item.

I know its probably my fault for not checking my emails (I expected them to respond through ebay), but its really annoying. :o

On Buy it Now I thought that you could continue on to pay for the item or choose to continue shopping, or is that only if the seller doesn't want instant payment?
A bit strange that the seller bypassed ebay & emailed you direct.

The seller can set it up so if you used "buy it now" you have to pay for it straight away

Did you get the other items from them in the end?

No, I didn't buy the other items. By the time I had checked my emails and seen that she would refund the postage costs if I purchased more than 1 item, it was too late and the item had gone in the post.

I suppose its a bit of a loose loose situation. She looses out on more sales, I loose out on buying the items at reduced postage.

Ironically it is possibly because ebay messages are picking up a bit of a reputation for being unreliable.

Instant payment is a absolute pain in the bottom, but it's better than having to sort out constant NPBs, which is why we moved to it.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

I always use the Paypal email to contact my buyers due to the ebay system being so unreliable. I have never had any problems contacting people this way. Where as last time I used the ebay system half my messages dissapeared

If you get problems with a buyer you can copy the message and headers and forward to ebay and they will consider it as much as they do messages through their system. I have had feedback removed on the strength of an email
