Joining different diameter pipes

Hi folks
Drainage pipe from kitchen sink, once past u-bend etc, goes out through wall, and then angles down (no more than 45 degree angle), to collector that then sends it under the concret to the main outflow.
The outside drainage pipe is cracked and leaking badly
, though not at the top, where it comes through the wall, so went and bought replacement pipe, and connecting bit.
New connecting part won't join as it is for new 40mm, and existing pipe is 45mm (looks like 1 3/4" in old money).
And before anyone says, I'll say it - "measure, measure and measure again !" :rotfl:
Is there anything out there that will enable me to connect the 45mm to the 40mm, and prevent me having to attack the wall to change the whole lot.
Therefore looking for a 45mm to 40mm reducer
Have found 45mm to 32mm reducer, but not to 40, should I bite the bullet and get the 32mm ?
Many thanks

just rip the whole lot out and start again in 32mm or 40mm. its cheap enough stuff.Get some gorm.0

You are only talking about a few fittings and a length of pipe. Do as ormus suggests and replace it all. It's not worth the hassle trying to repair it.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Is it old lead pipe or something? Not Again0

Not lead, and would rather not end up attacking the wall, trust me, that would end up costing me more !!Baby-Mechanic

Not terribly attractive but looks like it would do the job:

Can you not repair it.
Solvent weld/Glue a piece of plastic pipe over the crack?Not Again0 -
Either use the 32mm. or seal the length of 40mm into the 45mm with silicone.0

No it won't.
Won't even see it if it's done neatly.0 -
Go to a plumbers merchant. If you've bought 40mm pipe from the likes of B&Q I can guarantee that it isn't compatible with that which you will get from a merchant nor with what you currently have installed. Take it back, retrieve your dosh and ask your merchant for 1 3/4. Simples.
