Function Keys

Please please can someone tell me how to get back my function keys in microsoft word?? I'm XP.

I've mucked them up somehow and now when I press F5 to 'go to' within my documents I get a help command that is nothing to do with function keys.

Thank you so much
Shanni

Have you tried pressing Ctrl G, does that work?

Normally if I have a problem with Word, I go to Start->Run and then type winword /a

This will reset some of the settings in Word and might fix your problem.

    1. On the Tools menu, click Customize.
    2. Click Keyboard.
    3. In the Save changes in box, click the current document name or template assignments you want to restore.
    4. Click Reset All.

Note; Reset All removes your customized shortcut key assignments and restores the original Microsoft Word shortcut key assignments in the selected template or document.

The only thing I can think of is that you've somehow managed to switch your keyboard map within word. That is to say, word thinks it's using a russian keyboard for instance! I'll be damned if I can figure out how to check/change it though. Looking..............

I'm sorry, I just can't stand word. But there is a way of repairing it if it has gone loopy. There are 3 methods ranging from a liight repair to a reinstall. Here is the ms site dealing with it. I'll let you know if I get a flash of inspiration.
