hello there i need help my mother has been claiming widows pension as my dad died of cancer
she was contacted by the tax people to say she had been claiming for too long they she could only claim for 52 weeks btu she had been claiming longer than this and would have to pay back the deifference could some1 help and let me know if this is true about the 52 weeks of claiming is the max thanks

Widows Pension was replaced by Bereavement Allowance in 2001 and can only be claimed for 52 weeks.
