Question re points and credit transfers

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Hi - quick scenario.

I would normally buy my rail ticket (£3000+) on a 12month interest free card and pay it off over 11 months.

However - is it feasable to buy the ticket on my other card (amazon) to get the loyalty points and then pay it off using a new 12month 0% on new purchases card?

Does paying one credit card with another count as a purchase?

**EDIT - sorry wrong forum, however question still stands

You would need a new card with a 0% balance transfer not 0% purchases.

  • If i use a 0% balance transfer card, does that mean i have to close the original card account?

No -if you put the debt onto amazon and then BT it to say Egg you can keep the amazon card open.
