Basic Service for Toyota Yaris-is this average?
Options
Rang up for a quote from our local independent garage and they originally quoted £202 for a full service....
Can't afford that at the moment so asked for a basic service price and they've come back with £75.16 to change the oil, check the levels, screenwash etc obviously without checking brakes...
Is this average? (Just wanted to check as it's the first time I have had this car done)

If money is that tight change the oil yourself, will probably cost £25 to £30 for some good oil and a genuine filter...Toyota's own engine oil is very reasonably priced by the 5 litre can.
Then pay someone competent (not a fast fit get rich quick shop) to inspect the brakes and underbody for you, brakes etc should be checked over.0 -
National Tyres currently have an online offer for 10% off oil changes. For run of the mill cars (like ours and probably yours) it was £26.10, using decent castrol oil. For castrol oil you won't be able to do it yourself much cheaper, and it can be a VERY messy job. Check the levels of everything yourself, its easy enough.0

Well i would have preferred a full service as it hasn't been done for nearly 2 years but at £202, it wasn't going to happen as we have to move in the next 7 weeks...
Might see if I can get the underbody and brakes checked elsewhere.
I must confess, I actually have no idea what levels they check, as we do our own screenwash and oil I got used to checking that with my old car that swallowed oil like nobody's business....
