quick carrot question

How long do carrots take to grow? The leaves are looking quite healthy on mine but the root is still just that..a little white root (knocked one over accidentely!) Do the leaves form first and then the root swells or are there something wrong with mine?! thanks for any help

I know what you mean, I starting thinking the same as you and someone told me to just wait. You may start to see the top of the root turning orange in the next few weeks. Then a month or so until the carrot forms. It does depend on the variety for how long they take but they sound like they are nice and healthy so I wouldn't worry.

Lol - I remember last year, our first time ever growing things (just in containers) and we were constantly pulling things up 'to check it's going right'!
