Closing Halifax CC and reopening to get 0% purchases

Hi all,
Would anyone be able to advise me on how to go about closing a halifax all in one CC. The reason I got it was for the 1 year 0% purchases offer on it. It has now come to the end of this period and my bank has advised that i can close it and after 30 days should be able to obtain another with a fresh 12 month period:) Now as am not sure whether this would be credit checked i'd like to know if there is a recommended procedure from anyone who's tried it. Or if anyone knows of any long term 0% on purchases CCs. Cheers!

Usually you have to wait longer than that to get a new deal.
Halifax is reported here http://www.stoozing.com/cards.php to be the shortest at 2months (but they may have changed it).

For other good 0% purchase deals - http://www.stoozing.com/purchases.php

There was a post on here that Halifax are bringing out a new range of cards i think it is in July so they may not be offering the card you want in 30 days

You are correct that you'd have to wait 30 days to get a new Halifax credit card.

However, their new credit card range (which will be brought out in July) will not have any cards with 0% deals. Instead, every month that you spend £300 on the card in a month, they'll give you £5 back.

However, you would (after 30 days) be able to apply for a Bank of Scotland All in One card, which will carry on the same as now. (You can manage this account by phone or on Halifax internet banking, but not in a Halifax branch).

You would be credit checked for opening a new Halifax CC.
