Returning unused cosmetics - advice appreciated

Hello,
On Tuesday evening I bought a Mica mineral make-up set from a concession in the Westfield centre. The sales assistant beckoned me over to try the products. She used their range's cleanser & toner to take off my own make-up and then applied their mineral foundation & blusher on my face. I told her at the beginning that my skin is quite dry and can be sensitive but she assured me that mineral make-up is ideal for that, as it is chemical free & hypo-allergenic. Once the make-up was applied I was happy with how it looked, so I purchased the set containing foundation, blusher, eyseshadow & brushes for what I was told was a discount price of £100. I paid cash and have kept the receipt.

However by the time I got home that evening (approx an hour later) my skin was red, itchy & irritated, especially around the eyes. I removed the make-up but my face was still very red and the next morning was still dry & sore.

I clearly can't use these products, and have not opened or used any of the items I bought - I haven't even taken them out of the bag! I'd like to return them and get a full refund. I am worried though as I could not return until today and the reaction on my skin has calmed down again. I didn't go to the doctor or take photos.

I would be very grateful for any advice on whether I am entitled to this refund under SADFART, and any tips on how to handle this. I am really bad at arguing! Many thanks for any suggestions!
:(
Cheers,
Zil

  • Unless its is faulty, none.

I would recommend though a quick chat with your doctor about the 'Braccio di riduzione Terapia' that is wildly available. A cheaper option would be deeper pockets.

long shot, maybe argue under fit for purpose? you made it clear that you had sensitive skin and it needed to be suitable - although that's very subjective, it might be suitable for sensitive skin just not yours.
    Yes Your Dukeiness :D
  • Many thanks reehsetin, I will give it a try.

Freddie_Snowbits, thanks for responding to my genuine concern with sarcasm. Why did you even bother?
