Why doesn't Malwarebytes pick up Protexis?

I have just found out I have got it on my machine and I didn't know about it!

Malwarebytes checks for malicious software.

The description on that link says that Protexis is intended to protect software from piracy or illegal copying. And that is not malware.

Did you check the terms and conditions before you installed your software?

When I downloaded the trail of Corel Video Studio I was not told about this program and may not have downloaded it had I known.

Corel are one of the leading software producers and also make Paint Shop Pro. How many other people have got this on their computers and don't know about it?

It's spyware and it should not be allowed without the full consent of the user.

How many people have slow machines and this software may be one of the causes of it? 'To make matters worse, the ProtexisLicensing service may make PC boots up slower'

Its not really spyware, its simply a copy protection system
But yep, I sure wouldnt be happy with it either
