Card fraud

Hi all,
It seems I have been a victim of the Itunes scam mentioned in another thread.
Somehow someone has got hold of my old Nationwide debit card details (a card that expired last year and has since been replaced) and first spent around £1 and then a few days later spent £50. I was away on holiday at the time but noticed as soon as I returned (about a week later at the beginning of May). What makes it slightly more complicated is that I do not have an Itunes account linked to Nationwide! However, they obviously got hold of my old card details and it took me into an overdraft, which I do not have a provision for. So now I have unauthorised overdraft charges and interest to pay as well.
I contacted Nationwide straight away and they blocked the card and issued a new one, which I received in the middle of May. They sent me a form to send back to them to open a 'dispute', I returned this on the 15th May but heard nothing. I phoned them and they said they had no record of the dispute :(so I filled in another form and sent it back recorded delivery. This was about two weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything.
What do you think my chances are of getting my money back/the charges refunded? As this was a debit card not a credit card I'm assuming it's not as straightforward? I enclosed my correspondence with Itunes with the form as well as proof I was not in the country and so couldn't have authorised the transaction... Has anyone got any thoughts/been through something similar?
Thanks for reading and sorry this is so long!
