Which credit card 0% purchases for low earner??

Options
Ok. Hi all new to this forum,

I have savings and no debts. I want to go on holiday soon which will cost £3000. I want to apply for a 0% credit card so I can keep my savings earning interest for as long as possible. We also have very expensive insurance on a car coming up soon I thought my boyfriend could apply for credit to pay for this up front again to keep savings in bank earning interest. His credit rating is not perfect. He has an overdraft which he is over and a couple of late payments

I will start working part time soon I wont earn very much but my credit record is clean. Have a credit card that is in credit, no late payments or outstanding loans. Which credit card will give me a good 0% on purcases with a good credit (£2000) limit that I am likely to be accepted for?

For my boyfriend same question with a decent £20,000 wage but not so good credit report.

Also I have had Nationwide cc for 2 years. Is it possible to get two cards from the same people or do you think thay might give me a 0% offer on purchases if I say I want to leave?

Thanks in advance

  • I think with no job or a part time job you'll struggle to get a £2k credit limit from anyone, from my experience Lloyds TSB were the keenest to offer credit, when I only worked part time (contracted for 16 hours a week) and I was only 18 they gave me a £1500 credit limit. As for boyfriend, it depends on how bad is credit record is. I've never had a poor credit record so I don't know which banks/building societies penalise the most for poor credit ratings.
If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

Probably not - they aren't that 'pushy' for your custom in my experience - everything with NW is done 'by the numbers'.

What about a Sainsburies card? (10 months)
