I think a a couple of hours a day for about a week is best, then see how you go from there. My son passed his test first time doing it that way, and because I had booked and paid for a course I could not have any money back, so they took him on a Pass Plus course instead. That was BSM British School of Motoring. When I was learning to drive it was an hour once or twice a week and although I passed first time I seemed to spend all of my hour re-capping and there was no time to learn anything new.0

Who ever you choose check they have a green certificate displayed in the windscreen. Pink means they are still learning to teach lesson themselves. My daughter had to change instructors when he failed to pass the test himself. That was BSM   And they weren't cheap either :mad:0

I recommend an intensive course, not only does it work out cheaper because you don't spend time re-remembering stuff each week, you get it down quicker.
The downside is that it is hard for people who are busy and requires a lot of money upfront.
I did both .... took loads of hours when I was 18 but failed, then went uni and did an intensive course 4 years later.
I would try to whack in the passplus course too, to get your insurance premiums down, it pays for itself....
I suggest the AA .... and save a few quid buying your lessons upfront. All cars are <6 month or less old Ford Focus and the instructors are all green badges. Can I just stress that you ask for an instructor who has been with them for 2+ years. They seem to get a load of 1 year and go instructors because their franchise charges are always going up. You really don't want an instructor to leave on you half way through.0 -
my wife is an instructor. Her advice is...
Go with a locally established school not necessarily a nationally established school. Don't go for the cheapest - it's often a false economy. Don't go for the dearest either. Have at least 2 hours per week. 1 hour is a waste of time. Intense courses are a good idea - sometimes the fee includes test fees. Pass plus is also good once you have passed.0 -
