Boiler programmer replacement help

More of a question to any plumbers on here I think.

I have an old ( but reliable) back boiler , it has x2 flow and returns circuits , 1 for DHW and 1 for the CH coming from the rear of the boiler , and each circuit has a separate pump,

So my question is ,

when I replace my faulty programmer do I have to interlock the CH with the DHW so that you cant have CH on its own on the programmer ? , im thinking no, if they are both separate pumps switched independently.

The current faulty mechanical programmer seems to be set to interlock, but as there is 2 pumps, 1 for each circuit im wondering if this interlock is needed?

Any advice greatly accepted

thankyou
