help indesit trying to screw me over

hiya
i had a washing machine delivered last wed and 4 days in all fine till the weekend when the drum sounded like it had major problems and i was was so scared it sounded like it was gonna blow i stopped it. I managed to sit on the thing to get the washing out and it to finish the programme, didnt use it again.
Rang and was told it might have been what i was washing, told the girl i read the booklet and followed all instructions with regards to load filling etc and 4 pairs of trousers would not cause the drum to do that even turned inside out etc, so was told to do empty load wash which i did again. same problem
Now rang the centre and im fuming ive been practically accussed of lying and they are sending a engineer round to "check" something is wrong, and if they "think" its caused by the washing il have to pay !!
Now i wanted an exchange cause i dont want a washing machine with a fault 4 days after a delivery and im being told i cant ?? its not even 14 days old ??
please can anyone help me

    Just what I was thinking...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Wouldn't be Merloni by any chance would it.

They came to fix my machine but the guy prised it with a screwdriver and broke it and then I was without one for 6 weeks. I tried writing, calling, nothing was getting this machine fixed. I asked if I could rent one, borrow one, they would not help. I had a newborn baby and a 15 month old child, I needed the machine to get the washing done. After 6 weeks I wrote to their MD, CEO - whoever else I could find (they are in Italy) and it finally and miraculously got fixed.

Worst company EVER! I would not buy anything again that has to be fixed by Merloni. The name on the side of the van was Candy, Indesit and Hotpoint.

Well unless you bought it direct from Indesit you should really be addressing your concerns to the retailer. The manufacturer have every right to want to come out and see if it is indeed faulty, and charge you if its not.

As has been said your complaint should be addressed to the retailer in the first 6 months
