You were either unlucky, or selling an item where this sort of thing is slightly more prevalent than other categories (eg mobile phones are often scamer targets), either way it's not a hugely common thing to happen. I wouldn't give up, stick with it.

Sorry to hear this....I was scammed on my very first buy from ebay, it was for 17 quid! Why ...... see a first timer and think guillabe? Or maybe there are bad folk out there who are just scammers and you were unlucky? Could be that???

However I can say that that was the only really bad one (ok some few bad buys but nothingtoo awful, just didn't read the small print..... eg unless it says no smoking household it will be reeking!!!). Give it a few days and dip your toe in the water again!!

People trawl ebay looking for first time sellers... They're not 'time wasting' - they usually get goods for free and make a fortune doing it...

    Always worth being cautious over...

Definitely trust your instincts, if something happens, or you get an email you're not sure about then always ask on here. There are scammers out there but after a while they will start to seem obvious to you, but we were all new once so if ever in any doubt, just double check.

Going Off..topic..good user name OP, a fellow fan possibly?
