Tap problem.

Here is a pic similar to the tap I have, and I need help very quickly please
The left knob is the hot one, and earlier this week I was turning the knob to turn the tap on and heard like a click/snap, and the tap started dripping, and now the knob is sort of loose when I turn, so of course I havent used it, so was boiling kettle for hot water till I got it fixed.
Blow me, now the right one (cold) has gone just now, exactly the same as the hot tap.
I was going out anyway to buy washers thinking I will change the washer on the original hot one, but now after the cold knob has gone the same, is it the washer?, or is it something else instead.

It looks like the one we used to have at our old house. We got it from IKEA. They have a online website.0

I just need to know first if that clicking/snapping that I had from both knobs means either its the washer or the cartridge has gone,( in both)
I cant get out at the moment to go and get washers or cartridge, so really am gathering as much info as I can so I know what I am up against.:(0
