Not trying to criticise or stick my nose in, but I really hope you don't want an ID in order to pick and eat them? If so PLEASE don't take the word of an anonymous stranger off the web!!!!!

If you're just asking out of interest.... sorry. No idea. I've got plenty of mushroom books but they all look the same to me!

I agree with silvercharming, I've been on fungal forays and eaten some, but that was under the guidance of an expert.
Please don't go by any poster's recommendation unless you really trust them. Eating the wrong fungi can have serious consequences - like death...

p.s. even some of the 'edible' ones can have nasty side-effects.

lol - thanks guys.... more interested really as i cannot tell the difference myself even with the books. I might be more tempted to try
them, if i weren't 18 weeks pregnant lol (and they were not right in the spot where dogs pee ha ha )

I have no idea about mushrooms, but to be honest when I seen the first (small) picture I thought that I would probably give it a go at eating it... that is until you posted the closeup :(

It might be an agaricus species, perhaps agaricus augustus or agaricus cupreo-brunneus.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I remember watching Jimmy's Farm a few years ago and they went foraging for mushrooms. Even with a camera crew etc(presumably someone had a little expertise in that field) his wife ended up in A&E because one of them had been poisenous.
