Deposit for nursery

If I am returning to work after having a baby and have no money for the deposit for nursery, do you know where I can get help?

Job centre will not help me, nor will the sure start centres and HMRC say they only help with weekly payments and the father is off the scene now so I am stuck with no family or friends around and I do not know what to do.

If I quit, job centre will then go on to say that they cannot help me because I made myself intentionally jobless

So can anyone think of anything else?

I have seriously considered getting a payday loan to pay the deposit but it seems like the only option I have left :(

Have you asked if the deposit can be split into the first three (example) monthly bills? So you'll be paying higher for the first three months until they hold the required deposit?
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.

Can you look at an alternative nursery? We have used two private nurseries, both of which asked for a £50 deposit, but there were others who were a little more flexible with this.....
  • All the nurseries around here seem to ask for the money upfront. One nursery did say that I can pay the deposit in installments before my son starts but thats no good to me. Had I known that the father of my child was going to walk out, I would have done this a very long time ago.

I am maybe considering getting a registered childminder who may allow me to pay her in arrears until I get paid? I am not sure if they are keen on that idea.

The father will not help at all and it annoys me because he landed himself a very good job recently so if he was around, I wouldnt need help with benefits at all. I think that is why he will not help actually.

Does anyone know how long tax credits normally take to confirm my childcare details before I start receiving weekly payments because if I will have to pay out of my own pocket once I start work, I would like to be prepared!

I have asked my mum to help with childcare help because I know she can help and I said I would even pay her and she said she was busy. My gran said she couldnt help but she recommended this lady that she met and 'seemed' really nice and I said no, I am sorry but if I am going to let someoen I dont know near my son, they have to be at least registered so I know they are legit and a few ofsted reports wouldnt go a miss.

I am just so stressed out about all this
