hi
Ive just got a cheap Base PC for going on the internet its only got a low spec like 256mb but should be ample enough however Ive installed my 3 modem and it takes 97% CPU when its not minimized this makes the mouse jerk all over
Ive had a look inside for dust build up etc but it all seems clean
its recently had a fresh XP installation on so theres no junk on it
the fan is slightly noisy
and the last thing it does is when Im on the net and click a page it does nothing then suddenly the whole page loads pics and all done?
thanks

Have you get a link to this PC or a full spec? 256mb is below poverty spec these days.0

Which browser are you using?
I find Firefox occasionally hogs 99% CPU but closing and reopening it usually cures it.0 -
256mb of RAM is not enough to run XP ....you need at least 512, but preferably 1Gb+0

hi
although I have a much more powerful laptop
my dad and father in law both have older PC's with 256mb ram and they all cope with XP and the internet just fine0
