child tax credit investigation

i im currently being investigated for child tax credit with my partner.will this have any bearing on her Incapacity benefit she is worried she may lose it because of the hmrc investigation

    I expect it depends on if she should really be receiving it, if she should then you would have no worries. If not then, i expect it will. If tax credits are investigating you, they obviously have a reason to doubt what information they have. As long as it was all honest and correct then you will have nothing to worry about.

    An overpayment doesnt automatically mean an investigation - has an investigation actually been initiated and from that it has been determined there has been an overpayment?

    No her IB will not be affected. If there is an overpayment with your tax credits they will take the overpayment from your future tax credits award.
