Hi all

Can I move my TalkTalk LLU landline and broadband services directly to o2? Or do I need to go to BT first?

Will my broadband service be interrupted?

Thanks

No you cant because you dont have a BT Line, and your line is LLU. If its an ex BT Line your need to return to BT under the return to donor scheme . Reconnection should be free.

No, 12 months - and that's only for line rental (you could immediately opt for a CPS calls provider whilst keeping BT's Unlimited Weekend Plan).

However, I don't know of a CPS provider which would give you better value than BT's calls plans.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

You could as Heinz suggests take BT's Unlimited Weekend Plan, and add O2 broadband .

Then from OCT 2010 get out of your BT Contract cheaply,as Mark points out here.

Max possible cost to cancel a one year Unlimited Weekend Plan will be £24 . £ 2 a month for each month remaining.

    interesting, thanks guys.

I'm in the process of moving to BT. Do I have to wait until 'connection day' before I can order o2 broadband??? Or can I order beforehand?

You have to wait for connection day plus up to 24hrs for the number to appear on BT & O2's database.Last year when I went off Pay n Go with BT onto a normal line, that was what happened to me.After that it took less than a week.(ordered on Wednesday, live on the following Tuesday)

Possible that BT will cease the "Return to Donor" scheme pretty quickly and start charging the conversion fee if other providers still won't do the work.
£35+VAT for BT to convert the line and only getting £24 back.

spike7451 is absolutely correct that you'll have to wait until your BT line is activated on the systems completely. Once activated usually it takes 24 hours, you can cross check with the availability checker on our website. And then only you'll be able to place an order with us for broadband.
