D.L.A I am on the lower rate

I am on the lower rate of d.l.a for another ilness i was wondering if i could claim more d.l.a as i have now been told that i am now a dieabetic could i claim more d.l.a

    I don't think so. Unless your care needs have increased or your mobility has become more difficult, then you won't be eligible for more. I doubt diabetes would mean this, I am sure your GP will soon have it under control.

    Diabetes normally dosnt give care or mobility needs unless it isnt controlled and then people get secondary problems, keep to a suitable diet, take your medications/injections, take your blood test regularly and with careful monitoring it isnt normally a problem.

    You should make sure that you have been given plenty of information about your type of diabetes you have and that you know what tests need to be done such as the photograph of the back of your eyes and foot exam yearly, your feet may also need the attention of a chropodist every three month.

    You will also have to watch out for infections, they may be worse because you are diabetic.
