Can anybody help re-how will my DLA award affect child tax credit?

hello
I am looking for advice, have done a google but can't find anything.
We get CTC of about £10 odds a week for 1 child.
I have now been awarded DLA at higher rate for both components.
I called tax credit today and advised them, who said they will write out to me.
Can anybody tell me if it will affect it at all?
Know nothing much about benefit system and quite mad to find out by accident I was prob. entitled to DLA for the last year and a half following major surgery and ongoing treatment. Heard yesterday 3 weeks after applying it was awarded.

Your DLA doesn't affect CTC; but if you have a child for whom you claim DLA for, CTC would be affected.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

A disability element for a claimant/partner only applies if you are working and receive working tax credit. Your child tax credit does not change for DLA unless it is one of the children who receives DLA0
