just a note dont worry about buying a store brand of dvd player, the cheap ones dont have the regional coding chip lock as most of the big names do and to multi region the cheap ones is a simple case of looking on the net for a code to imput on the remote , get the next model up from the basic one , I have had all the big names over the years , but have bought store ones lately just as good picture but half the price (pacific from asda ) , just bin them off after a year or so as the new ones have better software , all the best andy0 -

check for hack-abilty before you buy
I think Sony, Toshiba & Panasonic need chipping though

Hi Jools, I also have a DMR-ES10 and when I bought it from Richer Sounds about 6 months ago, there were 2 versions. I paid the extra tenner and got the multiregion one but the bog-standard one is Region 2 only.
If you still have the box is should have a round yellow sticker to say it is multiregion. That will be the only visual difference on the packaging.
The standard one can be chipped but it works out cheaper to buy the multiregion in the first place.
Beware of some sites that say you can hack it with a code but want a PayPal payment up-front...as a general rule of thumb if there is a code available (usually a sequence of key-presses either on the remote or the player itself) then Google will find it.0 -
Yes - It's definitely a Region 2 one. I'm taking it back to Tesco though for a refund, so will use the money to get a better model.0

My wife is "Lost" mad, so I have just ordered this for her from Movietyme. I used my Nationwide credit card and paid in USD to save a furthe pound of the price. (55.78 USD = 29.29 GBP from xe.com. Final exchange rate will vary a bit from this, but should still be cheaper than ordering in pounds.)5limJim wrote:I use movietyme.com for most of the purchases I make, including games for the Nintendo, LOST Series 2 is 30.99 delivered price, never had a problem with customs duty, movietyme are a 'customs friendly' place, if you know what I mean

The discs arrived at 11:00 this morning from Movietyme - the day after ordering, and several days before the official release date. That is great service.
My wife is very pleased.
