I've received several of these emails today purportedly from Skype. Each has an attachment so I assume this something dodgy although Avast hasn't raised the alarm.

    Errm... Ok?

    You're Skype account should have a list of any thing you've bought.

    Also the Skype email will have your skype name & salutation (i.e. "Hi there John Smith") or what ever you've set the name to...

    If anythings different then it might be a scam and u should just ignore it...

    How are you viewing the messages?

    avast! can only scan emails via programs such as outlook or thunderbird

    If it is through a browser, then it is most likely SSL also, which can't be scanned by the webshield, but downloads (i.e. the attachment) should be scanned when downloaded.

    This IS most certainly a scam, and should NOT be opened. I have just received one of these to an e-mail address which is NOT the one I do use for Skype, and there's even a spelling mistake in the spam message:

    Thanks for making your purchase through Skype. We're happy to confirm your payment.

    == Here are your purchase details: (open attaced file) ==

    Mistake here =====================^

    It has a MIME'd (encoded) payload attachment: filename="open.html"
    Delete it without opening as soon as possible.
