Microsoft Office Communicator

Options
Hi - I've got Microsoft Office, which came with Office Communicator and since I use this at work thought it would be useful to use the same package that I'm already familiar with (very handy being able to call phones from the PC) - unfortunately I can't work out how to make it work - every time I try to sign in (using my hotmail account) it says the server is temporarily unavailable

I've tried reading the online MS help - which just implies that you put your e-mail account in and lo-and-behold you're connected. I suspect it isn't this straightforward!

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Unless it has changed recently, Office Communicator cannot be used without an Office Communications Server. Its Messenger for corporate environments, which is a shame because its got some awesome features

Thanks for this - at least I know not to keep trying! Like you say it is a shame as I love using it at work
