Current Account - Poor Credit History

Hi There
I have a Natwest STep account and you cannot make Bill Payments online. I do however like their online system as you can view quit e lot of info and can cancel D/Ds & S/O's online.
The way I get round the bill payment problem with a basic Step account is set up a standing order and then just call up each month to ammend the amount, no different to calling up to set up a BP. Although you can't do it online, but I never have any problems getting thru to customer service.
I may be biast as I work for RBS who own Natwest, but this is truly one of the BEST BASIC ACCOUNTS out there at the moment and I owe £100k in debt!!
If you have had credit problems, I really don't think there is much chance of getting a normal current account for approx 3 years.0 -
If you have credit problems try opening a current account with Norwich and Peterborough BS. If you get refused for a current account with £500 overdraft and visa delta debit/guarantee card they will open a current account without overdraft and with a link cashcard. You also will get a cheque book. Full on line banking facilities, bill payments, direct debits, standing orders etc, plus they pay a very reasonable 2.78% interest on the current account. Plus they also have very good savings account, Easy Access account at 4.65% minimum balance £1, Gold Regular Savings account £20-£3000 at 8%.
Plus easy to use we site and easy to open the account. Visit https://www.npbs.co.uk
