hi.
i was involved in a car accident last week where a car coming in the opposite direction turned right in front of me...i was unable to stop in time & hit him.
he got out appologised swapped insurance details & his insurers have rang appologising for the accident & admitting full responsibilty & wishing to deal with me direct as it will be cheaper for them??
they have arranged a hire car for when mine is either in for repair or wrote-off as assesor has said it 's going to be a close call.
my problem is that although my car is 10yrs old it only has 34700 on the clock with a full service history...i am not going to be able to replace that like for like with a pay-out from the insurers. can i insist on a second opinion if they decide to write it off?
also have had to see a doctor twice now as have pain inbetween shoulder blades & tingling nboth arms. doctor has said it's inflamed back muscles causing pressure on nerves...should i claim for injury too???

If they write the car off. Then you don't have to accept there first offer. Best thing to do is to look around for the car in a number of places to see what a very good condition of your car would cost to buy.
While I don't particularly like compo culture I would put in a claim if it effecting you then you can use that money to pay for some private treatment and to cover any costs you've incurred that's what compo is for.0 -

Bear in mind that cars advertised for £2500 does not mean that is the market value as there is generally an amount negotiated off the advertised price.0 -
And also bear in mind that you must inform your own insurance company of this and get them to log it as a 'no fault, no claim'
All insurance claims etc are on a central data base and if you dont inform them it could cause major problems when it comes to renewal or if you have a claim of your own, they are likely to refuse any claim if you dont let them know about this accident.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
