I was happily going along with the above card till I misplaced it (found it later but by that time I had already cancelled). When I phoned they said they would get another card off to me. I waited and waited. I emailed and asked where the card was and was assured it was on its way. Nothing. I telephoned again and was told that no new card had been raised but that they would raise one for me. In the meantime I noticed the Aug direct debit payment had not been taken from my account. I rang and pointed this out and because I had no active account they didn't take a payment. Egg suggested leaving the money and collecting it in Sept. Fine. I got my new card and activated it and I thought that was it. However since then I've been harrassed constantly by email, letter and finally at 8pm last night. The right hand doesn't seem to know what the left hand is doing and I've had it up to here. The letter said I a payment was overdue and that I couldn't use my credit card till a payment was made. I wasn't planning to use it till the Sept payment was made because that would take me over my low credit limit!

I phoned them this morning and was in tears and told them not to email,phone or write to me again as the constant harrassment was causing me distress and to get it sorted out. He assured me that this time definitely he had sorted it out. Lets hope so.

So beware. Egg Money is fine as long as everything is trotting along nicely but as soon as there is a hiccup - everything goes pear-shaped.

Write a letter of complaint to their Managing Director.
Letters are more difficult to ignore than e-mails and telephone calls.

I have currently waited 2 weeks for them to investigate a fraud on my card. They don't seem interesting in investigating it!

sadly I would have to agree, since getting my first card from them 2 years ago, Egg CS has gradually become abysmal.

Guess what. I just tried to use my Egg CC in Tesco at lunchtime and the card was rejected in front of a queue of customers and after saying “try again” the same thing happened. Now to say I was angry is an understatement. I was and still am absolutely incandescent with rage.

I’ve just rung Egg Money and jumped through all the necessary security hoops and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put through to a “team leader” and when I asked his name he said say “Ammeh” and when I asked for his surname he said “I’m on ext 10629”. Again I asked for his surname and he wouldn’t give it so I hung up. So its OK for Egg to know everything about me but I don’t even get to know the full name of the person I’m supposed to deal with. Shocking customer service!

I rung back and spoke to someone else who is now on the case but when she read out my CC number it did not match the number I had on my card. The last 4 digits were different.

When this is sorted out I'm going to cancel cos I've had it up to here with them.

I have just had an e-mail from Egg, saying they have increased the interest rate on my card by 4 per cent. WHAT!!:mad:

Didn't you say you had cancelled the card? - So why would you be suprised to have it rejected?

Yes I cancelled it and after 2 phone calls and email they sent me another one which I was using. They are a right shower.

Weird. Mine went up by 1%. why different percentages for different people?
